Trainees:

What you can expect
As a trainee solicitor you can expect a challenging and comprehensive program. You’ll find the emphasis is on as much involvement and ‘hands on’ experience as possible. You will also be given responsibility early on and will be involved in work that’s both varied and interesting.

As a valued member of our team, you can be sure you’ll receive the right level of support from your supervisor, who will always be there to answer any questions you may have. From day one, you will need to use your initiative – as a trainee, you’ll never take a ‘back seat’ role.

The training contract
You will spend six to eight months in each of our three practice areas: Dispute Resolution, Property and Corporate & Commercial. In each placement or ‘seat’, you will gain valuable experience in a number of different areas of law,for example:

• Dispute Resolution: landlord and tenant, intellectual property, sports and media, contentious employment and IT disputes.

• Property: commercial property, landlord and tenant law, tax planning and structuring, transactional work and asset management, residential conveyancing.

• Corporate & Commercial: mergers and acquisitions, MBOs/MBIs, joint venture work, financing, corporate restructuring and AIM transactions, non contentious employment together with commercial work including intellectual property, media and IT.

During each seat, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of partners and assistants within that department. This ensures you become fully integrated within the firm, get to know everybody, gain a wide range of experience and a significant degree of client contact.
