Arta ObertincaAssociate Employment
Arta joined Teacher Stern in May 2014 where she worked as a paralegal whilst studying her LPC part-time in which she achieved a distinction. Arta then commenced her training contract in September 2016 and during her two years of training she undertook seats in commercial litigation, real estate, employment and corporate. Arta qualified in employment law in October 2018.
Arta has experience of managing a broad range of claims against various legal entities, from large multinational organisations through to owner managed small enterprises and public bodies. Arta advises both employers and employees on a broad range of legal claims and combines her experience in both types of actions to tailor practical and efficient legal advice.
Some of Arta’s recent work includes:
Acting on behalf of a claimant against a school in respect of claims for direct sex discrimination, pregnancy and maternity discrimination and victimisation
Advising a public listed company on a large scale company restructure in regard to its duties to inform and consult pursuant to TUPE and its duty to collectively consult pursuant to TULCRA
Acting on behalf of a respondent company defending claims of unfair dismissal and constructive unfair dismissal brought by two former employees.
Advising employees on the terms of settlement agreements including advising an employee in regard to her claims against an arts institution and negotiating a generous financial exit package on her behalf.
Arta also assists the corporate and commercial team on the employment law aspect on non-contentious transactions.
